— First Public Presentation of the New “Night Lights” Series & Motenashi Glass —

Asada Shikki Kogei is pleased to announce a limited-time exhibition
at the 9th Floor Event Hall of Hankyu Umeda Main Store.

At this exhibition, we will present for the very first time at Hankyu Umeda:

  • the new “Night Lights” series, and
  • the dessert cup “Motenashi Glass.”

This is a rare opportunity to see and hold in your hands pieces that are usually crafted in Yamanaka Onsen, and to experience their texture, weight, and quiet presence in person.

New Work ①

“Night Lights” Series
(First unveiling at Hankyu Umeda Main Store)

Inspired by the gentle glow of lights emerging in the stillness of night,
this new series expresses that atmosphere through the depth of lacquer color and subtle luster.

The appearance changes with the angle of light and the viewer’s perspective, bringing calmness and a sense of depth to the dining table.
Each piece is handcrafted, allowing you to enjoy the unique character of every single work.

New Work ②

Motenashi Glass
(First unveiling at Hankyu Umeda Main Store)

The Motenashi Glass is a dessert cup combining a wooden vessel with a brass stem.

Designed with use in high-end Japanese restaurants and fine dining establishments in mind, it is also intended to create moments of quiet luxury at home.
Simply serving ice cream or dessert transforms the table into a space of refined hospitality—one piece that embodies the spirit of motenashi.

Other Highlights

  • The gradient-lacquered “Tasogare (Twilight)” series
  • Murakumo-nuri lacquerware
    — vessels with layered depth reminiscent of natural mist and clouds

January 14 (Wed) – January 19 (Mon)
9th Floor Event Hall

The exhibition will close at 5:00 p.m. on the final day.
