Repainting, repairs, etc.
Urushi no Utsuwa Asada offers repainting of discoloured bowls, etc.

After many years of use, lacquered products, especially bowls and other hot food containers, turn brownish-brown in both black and vermilion lacquering. This phenomenon occurs because lacquer is a natural sap and depends on the frequency of use.

Cracks and splits can be repaired with lacquer in about one to three months.

For wiping lacquer finish
Bowls: ¥1,000 – ¥3,000 (depending on the size and condition of the item)
Trays: ¥3,000 – ¥5,000 (〃)

In the case of vermilion or black lacquering
Bowls: ¥2,000 – ¥5,000 (depends on the lacquer and size finish)
Trays: ¥4,000 – ¥10,000 (depending on the finish of the lacquer and size)

The above prices are indicative only.
